February Events

We are holding two events in February for you to find out more about the project and how to get involved.

ACF Community Brisbane Northside is providing support and resources for meetings for this project as part of the Australian Conservation Foundation’s Save Our Big Backyard campaign. Please follow the links below to RSVP on their event page.

Meeting: Verge gardens and active transport

WHEN: February 12, 2023 : 3pm – 5pm
WHERE: Banyo Library
284 Saint Vincents Rd, Banyo

Walkable streets and frequent, reliable public transport have been a common topic for all our events.
What roles do our verge gardens and street trees play in bringing that change?
How does the design of a verge garden and which plants you choose affect people walking or riding?
Come along and join the discussion.

Active transport includes walking for all ages and abilities, riding bikes and scooters, and public transport.
Did you know the Department of Transport and Main Roads has a Walking Strategy and Action Plan?

Format:

  • Brief updates on the project
  • Discussion: What have verge gardens got to do with active transport (walking, cycling, public)
  • Q&A, general discussion

Afternoon tea and coffee will be provided.

Limited numbers: Please RSVP here
