47 Bilambil Street Verge
A planting day was held at 47 Bilambil Street Banyo Brisbane on the 25th October 23 to continue work we had started at this address. Our vision was that this footpath would be best covered in low growing native plants beneath the council planted street tree, to make it cooler, to reduce mowing and provide habitat for native wildlife.
A group of about 5 people spent about 2 hours chipping grass from under the street tree, digging, planting and watering in native plants, which were mainly ground covers and grasses of tube stock size. The ground was dry and so we watered them in well and surrounded each plant with mulch to support them during hotter and dryer weather coming. More work needs to be done on this garden to fill the area between the plants. More planting days planned.

The plants of the first section settled in well and some are flowering.
